A tiring afternoon at the zoo ...

On Friday, Mommy and I went to the zoo with our friends Gretchen and Josh. Well, actually, Gretchen is Mommy's friend and Josh will probably be my friend one day, but we just tend to stare at each other now; he's 3 months older than me.

Anyway, the zoo was definitely a new experience for me, but a good one, too. Josh and I got to look at all kinds of crazy animals and hear their sounds and smell their smells. We both got pretty tired by the end, though, and took naps in our strollers while Mommy and Gretchen had some cold snacks (it was a really warm day on Friday!).

Mommy and Daddy think I'm a riot in the evenings these days when I play with my sounds. Lately I've been practicing "volume" and like to make louder and louder noises while Mommy and Daddy just sit and laugh at me. I don't understand what's quite so funny, but since I get a good reaction out of them, I keep up those noises for quite awhile.

The past few days have been very noisy and little frustrating for Mommy and me here at home since Mommy and Daddy had to get a new roof put on. The roofers were SO noisy that I had to take my naps in the basement because I kept waking up with the crazy noises they made. Thankfully, that's all done now so I can get back into my normal routines!

One more thing, I've really started to enjoy being read to. Mommy has tried to read to me a few times a week since I was born, but I wasn't really into it until this past week. Now I'm actually interested and like to look at the pictures and listen to Mommy's voice. My favorite books are ones that move quickly and have a fun rhythm to the words. I especially like The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss.
