Every (well, almost every) Tuesday afternoon, Mommy and I go to a Mother-Baby hour at the hospital so that Mommy can visit with other new moms and I can be surrounded by other babies my age. I've slept through some of the classes, but when I'm awake, I just LOVE to watch the other babies. Yesterday I was so interested in looking at everyone that I forgot how tired I was until we got in the car. I was asleep before Mommy left the parking garage!
Today Mommy took me to her former school so that I could meet all of the teachers she used to teach with and so that they could meet me, too! I was such a good baby (for most of the visit), sleeping while Mommy walked around school and said hi to different people. Then Mommy went out to lunch with some of the teachers and I thought it would be fun to wake up and see everyone rather than sleep. I watched people eat and even had a chance to cuddle a bit with "Grandma" Bette and "Uncle" Dave until I got hungry, too. Since I was still pretty tired from not taking my full nap earlier, I let Mommy (and a lot of other people in the restaurant) know it was time for me to go home :)
With all this excitement this morning, I got so overtired that my next nap was not a very good one. As you can see from my glassy-eyed expression, I'm not a very alert baby this afternoon. I hope I'll take a good long sleep soon so that I won't be a fuss bucket when Daddy comes home from work.
By the way, I've discovered that sucking on my hands can be a lot of fun. In fact, Mommy and Daddy were wondering what was going on last night because I was making such noise with my own mouth and fist! Sometimes I try so hard to suck my thumb, but it just doesn't seem to come out of my fist.
