Always something new ...

I seem to find something new to do almost every day. Recently, I've been able to hold my head and shoulders up while I'm on my tummy.

This way I can look at books and toys that are in front of me, or sometimes I watch Mommy as she's walking around the room doing things. I like to show off for Daddy at the end of the day and see how long I can hold my head up. Sometimes I'm really tired, but still like to hear Daddy praising me, so I keep holding my head up even though I begin to cry :)

I've also started to hold on to toys that are dangling in front of me. Mommy and Daddy aren't quite sure if I realize what I'm doing, but last night while they were having dinner I would flail for awhile until I had a ring in my hand, then relax for a bit while I looked at the rings. When I'd lose my grip on the ring, I'd do the same thing over again, moving around a lot until it was back in my hand.

On a side note, check out my thigh rolls :) I know that one day I won't enjoy having them, but right now it's pretty cute, don't you think? It's just more evidence of how much I'm growing. Did you know that I've gained about a half a pound every week of my life? According to Mommy's kitchen scale, I'm up to about 13 pounds right now, that's double my birth weight!

I'm looking forward to seeing Grandpa and Grandma Mischnick this weekend up north. This will be my first overnight trip somewhere as well as my longest car ride. Mommy is a little nervous about the whole thing, but I keep telling her that she has nothing to worry about! I was watching her pack up my things this morning and can't believe how much stuff I need (or at least how much "stuff" Mommy is bringing along, I probably don't NEED it all). Whatever we do, or don't bring, it should still be a fun weekend with my family :)
