Three months and counting

I'm officially three months old now and feeling pretty well adjusted to "life on the outside". Now that EVERYTHING is not quite so new, I'm starting to show preferences for my favorite activities. In fact, Mommy and Daddy have heard me try and laugh a few times when I'm really having a good time.

In addition to those new laughs, I've also figured out how to work my abs when I'm lying on my back. I like to bring my legs straight up and swing them from side to side; it's a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. One of these days I'll figure out how to coordinate all those muscles so I can roll over!

I had my first "babysitting" experience on Friday night! Grandpa Dave and Grandma Barb came on Friday to play with me and put me to bed so Mommy and Daddy could go out "without me". I had a good time with my grandparents and was such a good granddaughter for Grandpa and Grandma. Grandpa said I didn't stop moving the whole time I was awake while Grandma said she spent most of the evening lying down on the floor next to me :) I also did very well taking bottles from Grandma and being put to bed by both of them.

By the way, Mommy and Daddy went to dinner and then saw the Shakespeare play Much Ado About Nothing at American Players Theatre, an outdoor theater in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Mommy told me that she and Daddy had a great time and really enjoyed the play even though they got back REALLY late and were very tired for most of Saturday.

The other event of the weekend was that Daddy finally got to take the bed off of his truck so that he can do his best to "derust" the frame. Daddy got Grandma, Mommy, and Neighbor John to help him lift that heavy bed off while I was taking a nap (Grandpa hurt his back last week so he couldn't help). Then Daddy spent time on Saturday and Sunday while I was sleeping wire-wheeling the rust off of the frame rails. I can't wait until the day I can actually ride in Daddy's truck with him; I hope the truck lasts that long!
