Holy Snowy Days!

Remember that snowstorm that I told you was coming? Well, it came! Not only were Ash Wendesday services cancelled, schools closed (and the Interstate, or at least it should have been ... don't ask :) but we got a record amount of snowfall last week. Did you know that we'll probably get a record amount of snow this winter? Only a few more inches to go! Here's a picture of the snow drift coming off of our roof ... it looked better in person.


Unfortunately, story time last week was cancelled, but my neighbor, Carly, and her mom came over to play in the afternoon. Since no one could really get out of their houses, it was nice to have a distraction in the middle of the day ... for both Mommy and me :)

We've just been plugging along here these days. I think we're all getting a bit sick of the cold and snow; that's why Daddy, Mommy, and I went to the Garden Expo yesterday put on by Wisconsin Public Television. We got to see all sorts of garden/landscaping ideas and then Mommy got to hear an "expert" talk about vegetable gardening. The whole event was fun for me because all of the older people at the Expo thought I was just the cutest little thing; I LOVE attention :)

I've started eating some on my own recently. Or at least I've tried. The food starts out as this yummy cracker, but as soon as I get ahold of it, it kind of turns into this brown mush that gets over EVERYTHING. At least the experience gives me a bit of independence with my eating; even though I can't wait until I can get more control of my meals, Mommy and Daddy aren't looking forward to the increased mess that I'll make :)
