My week of milestones

This was a big week for me in terms of new things I can do. Daddy and Mommy were pretty sure that I figured out what "waving" was all about a few weeks back because I would slap my hand around towards Daddy during dinner. But now they're completely sure; Mommy and I were at the store the other day and one of the cashier's waved at me (I'm always such a hit wherever I go) and I waved right back. Since then I will wave at Mommy or Daddy if they say hi to me and wave. Pretty fun stuff :)

I also finally figured out how to feed myself small things (not just those big wagon wheels or cracker sticks). Mommy has been offering me little sweet potato puffs for awhile, but I would just get them in my fist and not quite know what I was supposed to do with them. Then this week I discovered that I could get them to my mouth. Now I'm practically a pro at it!

I know this picture isn't the best quality, but Mommy thought my expression was pretty fun, and you can see my two pearly whites in it!

Overall, I'm a happy kiddo these days. My favorite things to giggle at are crazy noises that Daddy or Mommy make with their mouths or the "dropping" sensation, like when we play Humpty Dumpty.

I've also started to spend some time in my crib after my naps just hanging out and talking to myself, especially since I've haven't been sleeping quite as long as Mommy would like me to during the day. So since I usually wake up pretty happy, she lets me entertain myself for awhile before we start the active playing.

Mommy and I had a good week this week with a play-date with Emily and her brother, Benjamin, and then a trip to Mommy's former school today. I'm really looking forward to my special "daddy-daughter" weekend; Mommy is going out of town with some friends so it's going to be just Daddy and me from Saturday morning until Sunday evening. Hooray!
