Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

I LOVE my Daddy! Characteristically in our family we can't wait until the actual day to open any kind of gifts, so here you can see me on Thursday evening helping Daddy open his Father's Day card and present. I'm so blessed to have a daddy like mine (and he's so blessed to have a great daughter like me)!

We ended up spending our entire evening on Thursday in the basement because of the terrible storms that keep passing through the county. For those of you who live in other parts of the country (or world) and didn't already know, we've been getting some tremendous storms here in the past few weeks.

In fact, at our house we got 10 inches of rain in less than 10 days ... yikes! Thankfully, we're a bit south of the major flooding that's happening. And guess what ... it's raining again right now! At least Mommy's garden likes all of this crazy, wet weather!

In spite of the bad storms and flooding on Thursday, Grandma came by on her way to visit Great-Grandma Grossman so we could have a field trip on Friday morning to the zoo. I love it that my parents live close enough to a major Interstate that my family gets to stop by and see me :)

Anyway, here I am with Grandma checking out those crazy polar bears. Once Mommy and Grandma got me to actually see the bears, I got SO excited and wanted to climb out of Grandma's arms to I could try to pet the polar bears. Thankfully, Grandma's strong enough to keep me close :) I just loved seeing all of the people there as well as the animals. My favorites were any that were close enough or active enough for me to actually see what they were.

This coming week Mommy and I are looking forward to participating in Vacation Bible School at our church. Mommy is going to be a "shepherd" for some kids older than me and I get to spend some time with my friends in the nursery. It's going to be a long week, but I think we'll all have fun.
