Success (?) at VBS

Whew! What a week! Mommy and I spent most mornings this week at church for Vacation Bible School. I say "most" mornings because by Wednesday I was ready for a break from all of the activity (and lack of regular naps) so Mommy let me spend the morning with my friend Josh and his mom, Gretchen. What fun we had! Mommy and Gretchen think that Josh and I really recognize one another now and enjoy playing with (or mostly "near") one another.

Then I refused to nap on Wednesday afternoon and woke up IMMENSELY crabby on Thursday morning so Mommy and I stayed home yesterday (not only for me, but because Mommy would have felt really bad for the great people leading the nursery). Turns out it was a rough day in the nursery for a bunch of other kids so it was probably best for me to have a "normal" day at home. But today we were back at church with plenty of energy for the closing day.

Mommy thinks that overall I did a nice job of being in the nursery or with Gretchen, but I definitely put up a bit of a fuss when she'd leave :( As you can see from in the above picture, I was pretty tired this afternoon from my adventures this week. Usually I love to swing, but after we finally got home I decided I would rather sleep than play.

So when I was at Gretchen's house on Wednesday, I figured out how to crawl up and down the step leading from their entry to their living room. Once I got the hang of that, I thought our stairs at home would be pretty easy. Yesterday I made it halfway up the stairs and by today I made it all the way up them twice (supervised, of course)! Sometimes I can go down them, too, but up is definitely better right now.

Mommy wanted to share this picture of me and her peas in our garden. In about a week or two she's going to have her hands full, but right now the pea patch looks pretty amazing. The plants are between 3 and 4 feet high and are just covered in blossoms! Mommy likes to go out to the garden and snitch some of the snowpeas although I haven't tasted any yet; last night I got to try some of our own strawberries and some fresh broccoli. Yum!
