My personality

Turns out I'm developing a bit of personality (to put it the nice way) these days. I've recently gone through a phase where I didn't want to eat ANYTHING from a spoon that Mommy or Daddy was holding. I mean, big girls don't eat that way, so why should I? Lately, though, I've realized the benefits of eating some of my food as "baby food" from a spoon, though I either have to be really hungry or the food has to be really good for that to happen.

I also went through a "must be near Mommy doing what Mommy is doing" phase. Again, big girls help Mommy unload the dishwasher, so why shouldn't I? Big girls go to the bathroom in that crazy room with the toilet so why shouldn't I accompany Mommy in there, too? I'm finally starting to realize that I can play on my own again.

Grandma stopped by last week for a field trip to the Children't Museum on her way down to Bloomington. I had a lot of fun, but, boy, was it stimulating! Here I am crawling through a big fish!

This past weekend we went up north to spend time with Grandpa for his 60th birthday. Yikes! That's old! :) We all had a good time, but can you believe Mommy found a tick crawling on my DURING church on Sunday?!?! Only up north!

Daddy mowed the lawn when we got home. I was getting hungry crabby so Mommy stuck me in my chair and let me watch Daddy finish up in the back yard. Mommy thought it was cute how I kept leaning out of my chair to see where Daddy went.

Just a couple more things ... I'm still enthralled with the cats. Now I also like to give them hugs in addition to "patting" them. Also, I've started understanding and responding to a lot more of what Mommy and Daddy are saying. They enjoy seeing me sign an answer to a question they ask or visibly respond to something they have said. I'm growing up so fast!
