We've been letting Anna play in her room somewhat unsupervised lately. It's completely baby proofed in terms of safety and sometimes she really seems to want to just be alone ... to the point of going in her room and closing her door! Actually, I think that's more about the fun of opening and closing the door than trying to keep us out. Anyway, the other day it was way too quiet for way too long and this is what I discovered. Another time she had taken every single diaper out of the package and opened each one. Little stinker!
THE FIRETRUCKS
McFarland Fire Department celebrated its 100 year anniversary Saturday. We went for awhile, but didn't realize that the parade was going to have three dozen fire trucks. Matt and I had a great time, but Anna had some issues with the loud sirens and horns.GAMES GALORE
Anna likes to play games these days. We play one on a bed where I get my finger as close as I can to her tummy while she's sitting up before she falls back giggling. She also likes to play games with her blanket. I washed it Monyday and as soon as Anna saw it, she dove onto it to play.Anna also likes to play the "where did it go?" game. She'll drop something on purpose (her cup, a toy, her blanket, etc.) then look at one of us, turn her palms up, and ask "eh?"- her version of "where is it?" Then she gets this huge grin on her face. She'll play this game endlessly if we let her :)
OLD MACDONALD HAD A CAMEL?
Matt came up with new verses of "Old MacDonald" using some finger puppets. Did you know that the farmer had a tiger, zebra, lion, and parrot, too? Those that didn't have an obvious sound just went "la la la".
