An official "toddler"

Anna can now be classified as a real, official toddler. This past week, walking finally "clicked" with her and she hasn't stopped since. She can turn, back up, and get up from a squat if she's fallen (as long as her bottom didn't hit the ground, then she can't quite get her legs in the right position yet). Every day she's chosen to walk more and more instead of crawling, even if she'll still have the Frankenstein pose while she walks for awhile. Her favorite activity right now is to push one of the push toys around the upstairs over and over and over again. She especially likes to run into things and then back up/turn around :)

We had the opportunity this past week to meet Melissa at a new splash park near Madison. Just as we got there, it started drizzling, then pouring. We found shelter while the rest of the people at the park headed home.

Once it stopped raining, we were the only ones at the park for about 20 minutes (until others made it back after the rain)! What a great chance to play around with all of the water, even if it was a little chilly after the rain :) We knew Anna would like it since one of her preferred activities at home has been to play in the sprinkler if it's on. She just kept giggling and grinning like having all this water to play in was the best thing she's ever known.

So the tomatoes are coming in by the bucketfull, literally. We already canned 4 quarts of chili sauce, 13 quarts of spaghetti sauce, and I just picked another 30 pounds this afternoon. Yikes! Matt's planning on taking a day off sometime this week to help make salsa, then we'll probably do another big batch of spaghetti sauce next weekend. Hopefully, things will slow down by then!
