The Reunion

Whew! This past Thursday-Saturday we hosted a Mischnick Family Reunion at our house. Everyone (the Mischnicks, Sr., the Navurskis Family, the Needham Family) arrived on Thursday evening and stayed through Saturday late morning. We had lots of fun and made many memories, but were all exhausted by the end. I finally realized at one point that besides Anna, the kids included a 4 year-old boy, a 3 year-old boy, a 2 year-old boy, and a 1 year-old boy. Yikes! There was a lot of energy!

A few highlights of the weekend were going to the zoo on Friday morning, playing in the sandbox whenever the adults said it was okay, getting too many mosquito bites,

having all five kids asleep for 2+ hours on Friday afternoon for naps!, playing with Bear (the dog),

eating at "The Camper Restaurant" for breakfast on Saturday, and just enjoying one another's company during a few of the nicest days we've had this summer.

Needless to say, last week was spent getting ready for this adventure and the rest of the weekend was spent recovering from it. The timing seemed to work out great with our garden, too, as the tomatoes have decided it's time to ripen this week and the corn is also ready to go. Looks like Anna and I will have a big gardening week!

Oh! I almost forgot! We can officially say that Anna is walking now, although her preferred method of transportation is still crawling. I think the most steps she's taken is about 8, but she'll take steps upstairs, downstairs, in the grass, and on the driveway. She'll even sometimes initiate walking if she wants to move from the couch to a chair. Hooray for Anna!
