Anna's first train ride

This past weekend was the McFarland Family Festival, complete with the bake sale a neighbor and I organized to raise money for new park equipment as well as *free* train rides from McFarland to Madison on the classic Wisconsin and Southern.

Matt and Anna got plenty of daddy/daughter time on Saturday and Sunday while I was either transporting baked goods to and from the festival or selling them at our booth (Sunday was the best day for selling since Jenny and I brought the cookies around to everyone who was out waiting for the parade to start!). Saturday evening we managed to take a ride on the train together as a family. The actual train ride was probably a bit more fun for Matt and I since it gave us a chance to see the area from a different perspective, but Anna really liked the motion of the train and all the people around us.

Last week was the first week that we finally managed to make it to all three of our weekly activities ... music class on Monday (still a hit), story time on Wednesday (not as cool as last year since we have music now, but still okay), and Bible Study on Thursday (which is supposed to be more for Mommy, but not when Anna won't stay too long in the nursery without me).

Looks like Anna is getting into a "stranger anxiety" mode right now. Not only is it simply hard when Mommy leaves, but sometimes when we're at story time or music class and Anna gets so wrapped up in the activity that she surrounds herself with other people, she gets a bit anxious if she can't locate Mommy right away. Just another phase ... I hope :)
