Anna seems to be growing up so fast! I know, I know ... that may be a little extreme, but it really seems like it these days. Every day she's doing more and more and is starting to be more insistent on her independence. For example, last week she figured out how to go up and down the kid slide that we have all by herself. She had so much fun just doing it over and over and over again. She also likes to climb in and out of kid sized chairs and rockers by herself ... over and over and over again. She also is looking more like a toddler now that her hair is long enough to pull back. In fact, if we don't pull it back, it usually gets in her eyes. However, the pigtails don't stay put for very long when we do manage to get them up. Anyone have suggestions for dealing with a toddler's hair?Anna is trying SO hard to talk and communicate with us. A lot of times when Anna talks now she'll get a sound right or the number of syllables correct. For example, she'll say "sh...s" for shoes or "d" for drink. She also picked up on the game "hot potato" from a friend and will play right along saying "ot" and then a three syllable mumble. Of course, this means that when she can't get her point across we often get some pretty frustrated tears.

This past week she also got into hats (or anything that she could put on her head) pretty obsessively. She spent large chunks of time in the mornings walking around the house putting a hat on and then taking it off again. She also found an old dust rag in the basement and just thought it was hilarious to put it on her head and walk around. Anyway, in the midst of the talking and playing, we spent a lot of time outdoors last week, again. We went on a few hikes, played at a few parks, went on some walks in the neighborhood and even went for a few bike rides in the evenings as a family. We've also officially gone to two of our music classes now and they are lots of fun :)
