Other than seeing the combine go by, we had a nice weekend here with weather decent enough to clean up the yard a bit for fall/winter and to begin our painting project. We finally decided to paint some of the rooms in our house since we never really did that when we first moved in and you can still see the marks where the previous owners filled holes and slapped some white paint on things to cover it up. We managed to finish up the guest room and hope to do our bedroom and maybe some of the living room this weekend.
Anna enjoyed being outside with us (and sleeping while we painted). But, as you can see here, she's starting to have eyes only for Daddy when he's home. She likes to follow him around wherever he goes and sometimes has a hard time if he's in and out of the house a lot for a project he's working on.Anna's still working hard on communicating right now. She's come up with her own signs for washing hands and potty (for when I go to the bathroom). She also tried to use the sign for banana this morning at breakfast. Last week she discovered the pantry and now gets a kick out of digging through her snack drawer until she finds what she wants for a snack. She also started this new bit this week where she goes to the fridge and tries to open it when she wants a drink. I LOVE the fact that she can tell me some of the things that she needs now!
